The first Camp ABLE session of the year is scheduled for Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Indian Trail Junior High from 4-6 p.m. for all of the east-side elementary schools. A limited number of seats are available for those 5th and 6th grade students interested in attending. Watch for more information and registration forms in November 2009. All students must register through your school to attend the session.

ABLE stands for Assets to Build Leaders and Entrepreneurs. ABLE is a program to build and strengthen students’ leadership skills through interactive exercises.
ABLE Sessions are hosted at the NLSC on Tuesdays from 4-5 p.m. See our Information page for addresses and directions to the NLSC, and be sure to view our calendar to make note of the upcoming meeting dates.

The innovative “Leadership in Civics” junior high curriculum, developed by Olathe District Schools Administrators Jennifer Stoskopf and Kerry Lane, has been incorporated in the class. ABLE utilizes asset language and experiences to frame and set the tone for the leadership development class.
The Student Development Department is dedicated to building leaders and entrepreneurs in Olathe through several exciting and activity-packed training sessions.
